Liturgy Committee Meeting 11-12-20

6:40 pm – Remembering Masses from the past Souls Day on November 2, 2020. At the 11 am Mass only one person attended. We are missing communication from the English and African community. There are some gaps open to reach others, hoping to reach everyone.

One improvement that our church will have is the new website that will be launched in a couple of weeks. We hope that this new website will help with some of the communication issues.

On Saturday November 14 Nocturnal Adoration will have an hour of adoration from 11 am to midnight.

There will be a Mass on November 26, Thanksgiving Day at 10:30 am in English. There will also be a quinceanera Mass on Saturday nov 21at 10 am and a wedding at 1:30 pm.

Our last week in ordinary time will be November 15th. November 22 will be Christ the King feast.

On December 5, 2020 the African community will have a special Mass celebrating Our Lady of Kibeho and St Marie at 10 am. They are inviting the whole community to join. After Mass they will have a celebration elsewhere.

On December 7 the feast of the Immaculate Conception Mass will ne in English at 6 pm. On December 8 Mass will be at 6:30 pm in Spanish. One hour of adoration after that.

The celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe on December 11 the vigil feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe 6:00 pm rosary, 6:30 pm Mass, and serenata after Mass. On December 12, Mass will be at 1:30 pm. All in Spanish at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Salem. Paula Carreon will be available on December 12 to stay inside the church and receive those who wants to come to St Gerard to pray or come bring flowers.

On Christmas days: on December 24th 4:30 Mass in English, 7:30 pm in Spanish. On December 25th 1:00 pm Mass in Spanish.

No valley reconciliation services we will be encouraging people to come to confessions at regular schedule times or by appointment.

The posadas this year will be through Zoom at 6:30 pm.

On December 26 and 27 is the celebration of the Holy Family. A special blessing will be given after Mass.

On December 31, Mass at 5:00 pm in English, on January 1, Rosary at 6:00 pm, Mass at 6:30 pm in Spanish. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will follow Mass.

On January 2 is the epiphany and next weekend is the baptism of the Lord. Christmas decorations will be taken out after this celebration.

After these celebration we will enter the ordinary time. On February 17, 2021 will be ash Wednesday. And Holy week on March 27 and finishing on April 4th.

January 22 should be the March for life. We will have the vigil Mass for life on Thursday January 21, 2021.
